K-SWISS x ATP: A New Chapter in Tennis Footwear

For K-SWISS, understanding those demands has been part of the brand since 1966. Now, as K-SWISS becomes the Official Footwear Partner of the ATP, that connection to professional tennis is entering a new chapter.

Three qualities matter most as play intensifies: speed, stability, and durability.

Speed starts with efficient movement. Professional players react in fractions of a second, so their footwear needs to support quick first steps and rapid transitions without unnecessary weight or bulk.

Stability becomes critical during lateral movement. A running stride generally follows a forward path, while tennis repeatedly asks players to plant, cut, pivot, and push off at sharp angles. Pro tennis shoes are engineered to create a secure base for those movements.

Then there is durability.

Every slide, stop, and change of direction creates friction between the shoe and court. High-wear areas can experience repeated stress during a single match, let alone an entire season of training and competition. Professional tennis footwear must withstand that contact while delivering dependable traction and support.

K-SWISS has continued to develop tennis shoe technology around these demands, including working directly with professional players on footwear innovation and the K-Frame performance platform. The ideal footwear therefore depends on the job.

A player may prioritize explosive response, lateral stability, and court durability. An official may place greater emphasis on cushioning, support, and comfort through extended periods on their feet. In both cases, the footwear has to perform in an environment where tennis never really stops.

Through the new partnership, K-SWISS will provide footwear to ATP umpires, physios, and key officials, extending the brand's presence to more of the professionals who keep the Tour moving.

What the ATP Partnership Means for K-SWISS

For K-SWISS, becoming the Official Footwear Partner of the ATP is both a milestone and a natural continuation of the brand's history. It makes perfect sense.

K-SWISS began in California in 1966 with a shoe built specifically for tennis. Inspired by the supportive construction of leather ski boots, the brand's founders created the K-Swiss Classic, recognized as the world's first all-leather tennis shoe. Six decades later, tennis remains at the center of the brand.

The new multi-year ATP partnership brings that heritage onto one of the sport's biggest global stages.

In addition to outfitting ATP officials, K-SWISS will offer ATP players without existing footwear sponsors the option to compete in K-SWISS. The partnership will also introduce a collection of five ATP-branded tennis shoes, available globally through K-SWISS and the ATP online retail store, as well as through in-person ATP stores at select tournaments.

The partnership was formally signed in New York on August 27, 2026, as part of the K-SWISS 60th anniversary celebrations.

It is a fitting moment for a brand that has spent 60 years evolving alongside the game. Professional tennis keeps getting faster, more physical, and more demanding. The footwear has to evolve with it.

With K-SWISS and the ATP now stepping onto the same court, the next 60 years of tennis are already in motion.
